Our goal is to propel athletes down a road of both strength in body, and in mind.  Making athlete’s better people both in sports, but also in life. Training Philosophy

 

VBT and Conjugate

 

Ape Strong Barbell has a focus on training conjugate by using different methods concurrently in order to achieve the highest levels of athletic performance, focusing on the use of repetitive, dynamic, and max effort methods of training.  We have also integrated Velocity Based Training (VBT) into our methods as well, seeing as speed is a very important measurable for Ape Strong Barbell. The use of a velocity tracker is used to make our lifts quantifiable without any guessing games.

 

General Fitness

 

Another huge aspect to our methods of training is physical fitness. Being physically prepared to handle anything that comes at you is important for all athletes, and powerlifters don’t get to miss out on this fact. We focus on all our athletes doing conditioning workouts as part of their yearly plans.

 

Weakness Exploitation

 

At Ape Strong we have a very strong belief in exploiting weaknesses in order to turn them into our strengths, if you are one to have a big ego and only focus on the things you are good at than Ape Strong Barbell is not for you, which is okay. Not everyone is built for this type of training but if you’re willing to leave the ego at the door then we have a spot for you! 

 

 

 

What we are looking for in our athletes

 

In order to be part of Ape Strong Barbell you must have the right intangibles. You do not have to be the strongest on the planet and you do not have to be a specific weight class, you do however have to have the right attitude.

 

We do not accept just anyone as part of the team. There is a limit to the number of spaces on the team and the athletes that show case the right attitude will be given the benefits of training alongside it.

 

All this being said there will be an interviewing that includes an application and a 10 minute in person interview to see if you have the mindset to be an Ape Strong athlete.

 

 

 

 

Investment

 

If you have made it past the interview process and have secured your spot on the team we to need address the elephant in the room, what is it going to cost?  We will get there but let’s talk for a minute what being part of the team means.

 

Being an Ape Strong athlete gets you a national champion, national record holding, and certified strength coach as well as a positive training environment filled with liked minded people who are looking to achieve the same goals you are.

 

We have a strong focus on making you a great lifter but also a great person, we will build a strong work ethic as well as great interpersonal skills as we work toward becoming a great team that breaks both meet records but also personal records!

 

We are only asking a small fee of $60 a month which includes three nights of training a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday @7pm) as well an Ape Strong Barbell T-shirt.
